Still burning – dedicated to lives lost in runaway fires.

This is not the face of defeat. It is the face of someone who has given everything to hold the line. Only those who have faced the heat – wind whipped into fury, smoke thick in their lungs, eyes burning, hands blistered – can understand what it means to sit, silent, on scorched earth afterward.

To our firefighters: we see your courage, your fatigue, your humanity.

Respect begins long before the flames appear. Firebreaks and proper land care can save lives.

Please do not light fires in unsafe conditions. Please do not toss cigarettes or glass bottles into dry grass. Small careless acts may cause immense loss.

Dedicated to lives lost in runaway fires.

Roam free and stay safe – original painting

In September 2023, a free roaming leopard in Nottingham Road made news headlines. In some people it stirred awe, in some fear—and for me, a sense of the wonder of wild Africa, and sadness.

I thought of the statue on Little Lions Head, marking the last leopard seen there in 1937.

May this leopard, and others, roam free and stay safe.

The painting holds quiet tension—movement and stillness, shadow and gold, asking what we protect, and what we let disappear.

This original painting, one of a kind, professionally framed, is available and ready to find its home.
