Still burning – dedicated to lives lost in runaway fires.

This is not the face of defeat. It is the face of someone who has given everything to hold the line. Only those who have faced the heat – wind whipped into fury, smoke thick in their lungs, eyes burning, hands blistered – can understand what it means to sit, silent, on scorched earth afterward.

To our firefighters: we see your courage, your fatigue, your humanity.

Respect begins long before the flames appear. Firebreaks and proper land care can save lives.

Please do not light fires in unsafe conditions. Please do not toss cigarettes or glass bottles into dry grass. Small careless acts may cause immense loss.

Featured painting: True Strength

This October, in honour of Mental Health Awareness Month, we celebrate the quiet courage it takes to speak openly about mental health. True Strength invites us to move beyond the myth of stoic resilience and embrace vulnerability as a form of power.

In a world that once celebrated cowboy toughness, we now understand that true strength lies in admitting and sharing struggles. In sharing our struggles, we reclaim peace—and remind each other that healing begins with honesty. Suppressing emotions undermines inner peace, a silent cancer that erodes a person’s well-being. Embracing vulnerabilities and challenges requires courage; it is where true strength is discovered.
