Welcome to the studio. For those who are new here, I’m Skye, Head of Barketing, Chief Public Relations Officer, Visitor Welcome Specialist, Security Supervisor and all-round Manager of Everything Important. Officially, this is an art business. Unofficially, it is a carefully orchestrated operation overseen by me.
Skye – Head of Barketing
My responsibilities include:
- Greeting every visitor.
- Monitoring neighbourhood activity.
- Supervising the artist.
- Keeping track of snack inventories.
- Conducting routine perimeter inspections.
- Looking adorable for marketing purposes.
I have repeatedly requested access to the website and social media accounts. My proposals remain under review. For legal reasons, I am apparently not allowed to approve my own salary or treat allocations.
Jamie – Director of Set-Up, Fetch & Carry (and Chief Financial Supporter)
Jamie handles all the heavy lifting, exhibition set-ups, transport logistics and practical matters.
He is also the studio’s primary financial backer, which is probably why he believes he has some authority around here.
His duties include:
- Moving artwork.
- Solving problems.
- Building things.
- Funding artistic adventures.
- Explaining why we cannot spend the entire budget on treats.
Lani – Artist & Chief Snack Dealer
Lani creates the artwork and spends an unreasonable amount of time talking about paper, paint, horses, framing, websites and colour palettes.
When she’s not painting, she’s busy:
- Photographing artwork.
- Updating the website.
- Preparing exhibitions.
- Writing descriptions.
- Providing snacks and treats to worthy team members.
As far as I can tell, she exists primarily to produce paintings and dispense treats.
